    • Changes in bridging pensions (10)
From January 1, 2024, the regulations on determining the right to a bridging pension will change. The right to this old-age pension will no longer depend on the work of the entitled person in special conditions or of a special nature before 1 January 1999. This is a favorable change, as it will not result in the expiry of the right to early retirement for this group of insured persons. In addition, the provisions on compensation and suspension of the bridging pension in the event of simultaneous performance of work by persons receiving such an old-age pension have been clarified.

    • Parental leave after changes in regulations (15)
One of the basic employee rights related to parenthood is the right to parental leave. This leave is granted at the employee's request, submitted in paper or electronic form. An employee entitled to childcare leave may exercise the right to reduce working time. Exercising this right does not reduce the length of parental leave.

    • The deadline for payment of remuneration and the consequences of its violation (25)
The Labor Code restricts the employer's discretion in determining the dates and frequency of salary payments. Each employer can regulate these issues in a way that is convenient for them, but the deadlines specified by them cannot be less favorable than those resulting from the Labor Code. Violating the provisions on the payment of remuneration, the employer bears certain consequences. They can be e.g. termination of the employment contract by the employee without notice, the obligation to pay statutory interest for delay, as well as liability for an offence.
