    • Changes in the obligations of employers towards employees on military service from April 23, 2022 (12)
      From April 23, 2022, the law on the defense of the Fatherland is in force. It includes protection against dismissal of employees called up to perform essential military service. An employer who employed an employee on the day of his appointment to compulsory military service, is obliged to employ him in the previously held position or an equivalent position.

      Due to the outbreak of the war in Ukraine and the influx of refugees, simplified procedures for employing Ukrainian citizens in Poland have been implemented. They can be entrusted with work, provided that they notify the competent employment office within 14 days of starting work. The notification should indicate, inter alia, type of contract concluded with a citizen of Ukraine, position or type of work, place of work.

      Employers engaging students of technical secondary schools and first-cycle industry schools who are not juvenile workers should conclude written apprenticeship agreements. A student performing an internship receives a monthly cash benefit, unless the parties to the contract agree that the internship is free of charge. The amount of such a benefit may not exceed PLN 3,010 in 2022.
