The article discusses the general principle of selecting personal protective equipment to protect the eyes and face, as well as the selection of these protective equipment in the context of welding works. With reference to the described examples, lists of hazards occurring at the welder's workplace, characteristics and types of eye and face protection used in these conditions are presented. The article is also intended to help the reader interpret the content of the standards, which include guidelines for the selection of eye and face protection.

Ultraviolet radiation may pose a threat to the health of bystanders working or staying near places where arc welding is performed. The UV irradiation of the skin or eyes of a person staying in the welding room, even in areas remote from the arc or protected by welding screens, may exceed the maximum permissible exposure values. Hence, it is important to design workstations located in the welding room in such a way that other workers are not exposed to excessive UV radiation. The developed mobile application can help with this. It makes it possible to estimate the value of the irradiation intensity and the permissible exposure time of an employee staying in any place in the room, as well as to model the setting of welding shields so as to reduce the occupational risk. the condition is to have measurement data of the irradiance for a given welding process and to enter them into the calculations in the application. If the user does not have such data, he can purchase the measurement database for various welding processes developed at CIOP-PIB and select the measurement result for a given process.

The basis for proper management of medical waste (especially in the workplace) is its proper segregation and disposal. It is estimated that in Poland, medical waste is produced by approx. 40 thousand. business entities. The article presents the current classification of medical waste, describes the sources of its generation, as well as the methods of its collection and storage. The readers were also familiarized with the knowledge of how to handle medical waste in the light of applicable law, including their transport and disposal.

The aim of the research presented in the article was to assess the influence of age and gender on functional features related to the precision and speed of performing tasks. two groups of 120 people were included in the research. The variables describing the quality of fine functions, eye-hand-leg coordination and eye-hand coordination in a cross-test were measured. In the variables of all tests, differentiation of values was noted, both in terms of age and gender of the respondents.
