      The Ministry of Development and Technology has presented a new draft of changes in the regulations concerning electroplating processes. The main purpose of the changes is to increase safety standards in enterprises representing the electroplating industry. The provisions of the new regulation will apply to employees employed in these entities and to employers who are responsible for organizing work allowing for the creation of safe working conditions.
    • Reinstatement of the obligation to perform periodic examinations of employees (4)
      The Ministry of Health is working on changes to the provisions of the Anti-Covid Act. Among the planned innovations are: a change aimed at restoring the obligation to perform periodic examinations of employees. Currently, the regulations that suspend the obligation to conduct such tests during the epidemic are still in force.
    • A new model of the statistical accident card from 1 January 2023. (5)
      The Ministry of Family and Social Policy has published a draft regulation on the statistical accident card at work. According to the assumptions, it should enter into force as early as January 1, 2023. A significant change will concern the indication whether the accident at work occurred during work at the company's headquarters or during remote work. Regulating this issue will probably also translate into an increase in the accident insurance premium for employers.
    • Impact of the minimum wage in 2023 on other rates (6)
      At the beginning of the new calendar year, the amount of the minimum wage for work changes. On September 13, the Council of Ministers adopted a regulation which states that in 2023 the minimum remuneration for work will double. What rates are affected by the change in the amount of this remuneration?
    • The bill on a shorter working week was sent to the Parliament (7)
      The bill reducing the weekly working time from 40 to 35 hours was sent to the Parliament. Shortening the working time standards will not change the amount of remuneration. This means that it will not be lower than the one received so far. The project also does not provide for restrictions on the ways of organizing working time in the settlement period and enables the system to be operated in three eight-hour shifts. What is the purpose and the need to pass the law?

Although the act on social labor inspection uses the structure of the right, participation in the post-accident procedure is the legal obligation of the social labor inspector.

      Construction is the apple of the eye of National Labor Inspectorate inspectors. This can be relatively easily verified by analyzing data from annual reports, as well as information contained in the office's annual and long-term action plans. According to the current action program of the National Labor Inspectorate, the strategy of inspections and preventive actions for the construction sector for 2022-2024 includes, among others, inspections of smaller construction sites. Inspections carried out in this regard provide valuable data on the irregularities found, including the applicable legal measures. This information can be used by employers in the construction sector before an inspector of the National Labor Inspectorate appears on the construction site.

The situation should be different in work rooms, where regulations provide for limit temperatures below which it should not fall. The situation on the energy market may favor violations related to ensuring the right temperature, especially when the employer has a choice between paying remuneration for work or ensuring the right temperature. At the moment, the regulations do not provide for any special deviations from the minimum temperatures, and compliance with the regulations in this respect can be verified by inspectors of the National Labor Inspectorate with all the consequences.
