The main theme of the new issue is safety during mining operations. The magazine has articles about, among others, hearing tests for miners and a severe accident in an aggregate mine. The edition has been enriched with a special ATEX additive in which you can read about: dust as a fire and explosion hazard, introduction of an integrated employee safety system and security in explosion zones.

    In one of the opencast mines an accident occurred, in which a 19-year-old employee lost his hand. According to the PIP inspector's findings, the aggrieved party did not undergo adequate initial training, and the technical condition of the equipment there was life threatening.

    The data of the Institute of Occupational Medicine shows that the second most frequent occurrence of occupational disease in mining is permanent hearing loss. The first of these is pneumoconiosis. The article presents a detailed analysis of hearing tests in the employees of coal mines.
