- The use of selected normative management systems in higher education institutions
The article presents selected models of management systems described in international standards that can be used in higher education institutions. These systems may be a beneficial alternative to the mechanisms that are burdened with many flaws, adopted by the university management staff in relation to the key processes of these institutions.
- Computer aided production quality supervision system for mechanical products as an element of Industry 4.0
The implementation of IT production quality monitoring systems that record production data (Traceability systems - TCS) is becoming an important element of companies' operations. Traceability is the ability to track (history) the flow of products by recording data identifying these products and process values, as well as the locations visited. The appropriate functionality of TCS systems ensures their effectiveness. The simple configurability of these systems gives the company a technological advantage, as it shortens the time of implementation and connection of the production station to the system. The aim of the article is to define the desired features of a computer-aided quality monitoring system for the production of mechanical products in relation to the idea of Industry 4.0.
- TPM (Total Productive Maintenance) - second step. The truth about elimination of dirt and cleaning standards
The apartment is everyone's asylum. We want it to be clean and tidy. So every day we sweep the floors, clean the countertops in the kitchen and the mirror in the bathroom. Once every two days we vacuum the carpets or wash the floor, and once a month we clean the windows. It is quite obvious that we first wipe the crumbs off the countertops and the dust from the table, and then sweep the floor. If someone does the opposite, I recommend a moment of reflection and… changing the order. Why? Because there is gravity and the crumbs from the countertop will surely fall to the floor, but the dirt from the floor will not climb onto the countertop. The fact that we are cleaning our space is as obvious as the fact that we should keep the machine clean. Initial cleaning, which I wrote about in the previous issue, is the first step to standardized cleaning procedures. It is not enough to clean the machine and its surroundings thoroughly once. Every day new dirt appears. Cobwebs of glue at the welders, wafer and chocolate shavings at the knives cutting the bars, dust from furniture boards floating overhead. At work, as in life, it's not about cleaning forever, but about eliminating sources of dirt and making cleaning easier. Moreover, in English there is a saying: "clean to inspect, inspect to detect, detect to correct, correct to perfect, perfect to protect", which means that we clean to control the machine and identify irregularities. We fix the identified defects so that the machine is in perfect condition, which in turn protects it against unplanned stoppages, breakdowns and quality defects. This is what the second step of TPM is about. In this article, the author not only focuses on the role of quality departments, but also guides the reader through the thought process that forms the basis of the second step.
