While sustainability is a well-known term in the literature of the subject, the sustainable product is just emerging in it and - so far - it has not taken root in it properly. In the paradigm of sustainable development, it is assumed to search for the economically optimal and environmentally-satisfying vision of civilization. It assumes rational management of resources (natural, economic, human or spatial), as well as taking into account institutional solutions, moral sphere, shaping awareness and choosing a model of life. - Selected issues of waste management in the context of environmental safety on the example of Military Armaments Works
According to the latest standard, it is required to specify what is important in the internal and external environment of the organization to achieve its goals, strategy and achieve the desired effects in the quality management system. The environment factors forming the conditions should therefore be reviewed and monitored. In this sense, an important element related to the activities of organizations implementing security and defense tasks is responsibility for maintaining military equipment in operation. At the same time, the technical complexity of products for military and police purposes is related, among others, to with the problem of waste arising as a result of, eg: replacement of consumables, removal of defects, modernization or modification of equipment. The fact is that the average number of faults, and thus the amount of waste generated as a result of their removal, increases as the technical age of the device increases. The aim of the article is to identify requirements regarding environmental management, in particular in the field of waste and in the context of ensuring the safety of defense products, as well as analysis of processes of repair, modification and modernization of military equipment in accordance with environmental protection requirements. This approach is based on the experience of waste management in the light of system solutions taken from the practice of the Military Armaments Plant in Grudziądz, whose mission is related to the technical protection of the operation of anti-aircraft defense equipment. In the first part of this article special attention is paid to the normative and legal conditions in the field of waste management, important from the point of view of their negative impact on the natural environment.
