- Subject of the issue: Do you want to hire a young person? You must remember about this!
More and more often, the work of adolescent workers is no longer associated only with seasonal work. Young people work practically all year round, wanting to become financially independent as soon as possible and gain experience necessary for their future professional career. However, for the employer, hiring young workers is associated with many obligations that must be absolutely remembered. It will be, for example, a different working time than in the case of adults, or a ban on employing young people for specific jobs. What should not be forgotten is also the fact that already at the stage of the first professional experience, it is worth shaping the correct habits in young employees, which will result in safe work in the future.
- The inspections of the National Labor Inspectorate have started again in full scope
From June 22, 2020, by the decision of the Chief Labor Inspector, the inspectors resumed their supervisory and control activities to the full extent. - Remote work in shield 4.0 - what changes?
Still, on the basis of anti-crisis regulations, in order to counteract COVID-19, the employer may order the employee to perform, for a specified period of time, work specified in the employment contract, outside the place of its permanent performance, i.e. remote work. Therefore, it is necessary to make sure whether a given type of work can be performed remotely at all. So far, the regulations did not pose any barriers in this respect. The only limitation in practice was the organization of work in the plant, the way it was performed, etc. However, the next edition of the shield introduced additional reservations, such as employee skills, technical and space capabilities. What does this mean exactly? What other changes has the shield 4.0 introduced?
- Risk assessment of teleworker and remote worker - selected problems
Not every type of work must absolutely be performed on the premises of the workplace. Quite a large group of professions and specializations may function outside the employer's seat, working remotely. We are talking about telework and remote work introduced relatively recently, performed to counteract COVID-19. In the case of the above-mentioned types of work, one should not forget about the occupational risk assessment, if the work is performed as part of a computer workstation - about the assessment of working conditions in such a position. In a situation where remote work carried out in order to counteract COVID-19 is broadly understood office work, then the occupational risk assessment will practically not differ from that carried out as part of telework.

Occupational exposure assessment is the responsibility of the sanitary inspection authorities, and the occupational exposure assessment sheet is one of the most important documents for the purpose of determining an occupational disease. It objectively indicates the concentration of harmful factors in a specific workplace. Among others, on the basis of occupational exposure assessment, certification units issue medical certificates. Will the conclusions contained in the medical opinions be considered decisive in the case concerning the finding of an occupational disease in an employee?
- The effect of the lack of an opinion of an occupational medicine physician in the post-accident procedure
An integral part of the documentation collected during the accident investigation is the doctor's written opinion. The lack of such medical documentation confirming the occurrence of an injury may constitute grounds for not recognizing the accident as an accident at work. Therefore, the occupational medicine doctor and his opinion play an important role in the post-accident investigation. You can read more about it in the article below.
