• Modernization of the water pumping system at PGG Branch KWK "ROW" Rydułtowy Movement
The restructuring of the mining industry resulted in a change in the "ROW" mine model. Movement Anna along with main drainage facilities at levels 500, 700, 800 and 1000 were liquidated, while at Rydułtowy a pumping station at level 400, and water from the liquidated traffic was redirected with a specially constructed pipeline to a district pumping station at the level of 1067 m. Increased water supply at the Rydułtowy Movement forced modernization of two main drainage pumping stations at the level of 800 m. Modern distribution fields were built and a system of monitoring, visualization and remote control of pumps was launched, modern, high-efficiency pumps of the Düchting and Powen companies and permanent magnet motors were used. Both pumping stations were hydraulically connected, adapting the pipelines in the Leon II and Leon IV shafts to pump water alternately from the main drainage pumping station at the shafts to the surface. These changes in the years 2012–2018 reduced the cost of purchasing electricity by PLN 6.7 million. The modernization of the pumping system also enabled the conversion of a 600 m pumping station into a drinking water pumping station, which supplies the surface fire protection system, processing plant and Rydułtowy Heating Plant, where, after treatment, it supplies the city's water supply. In addition, water pavements at the level of 600 m were adapted to act as the main fire tank. for mine workings. The economic effects achieved clearly depend on the efficiency of the pumps and drives used, and the limitations on intermediate components. The hydrological safety of the mine was improved by doubling the possibility of pumping underground water to the surface and increasing the reliability of power supply.
