- An attempt to assess occupational risk on crystalline silica in coal mining in the light of changing occupational exposure levels
The entry into force of the new regulation on the highest permissible concentrations and intensities of agents harmful to health in the work environment of 2018 causes changes in the indicative occupational exposure limit values, which will also affect hard coal mining. Important from the point of view of the working environment in mining are the proposed changes related to with the NDS value for crystalline silica (quartz and cristobalite), considered as a separate harmful agent. The subject of the publication is the analysis of occupational exposure to crystalline silica in the work environment in hard coal mining.
- Failure of mining shaft lift of a two-compartment shaft
The article describes the course and consequences of failure of a mine shaft winder of a two-shaft shaft with a built-up artificial bottom and a tank of forfeit, and an analysis of its causes. This failure, consisting in the collision of the skip with the elements of the tank of fate, took place in December 2017 and resulted in a dozen or so days of shutting down the shaft.

Its aim is to present innovative solutions in the construction and operation of a grab excavator operated at Szczecin's Mineral Resources Mines SA.
