- Requirements of Directives 2006/42/EC (machinery) and 2009/104/EC (tools) (4)
The functioning of all industrial sectors is inextricably linked to the use of machines, devices and entire installations. Many technologically advanced areas require emphasis on safety issues, and their functioning includes ensuring safe and hygienic working conditions when using machines and other technical devices. A uniform system of technical EU regulations and New Approach directives regulate and ensure a consistent approach to the safety of devices and people operating them. The condition is their proper understanding and application. The regulations combine the requirements for manufacturers with those for operators. In addition to the device directives, there are so-called social directives, which apply independently, but at the same time as the New Approach directives.

- The use of the projective technique method "Chinese portrait" on the example of migration research
The aim of the text is to convey the experience of qualitative research in the area of migration using the projective technique of the "Chinese portrait" used so far mainly in marketing research and psychology. As part of a scientific project devoted to the perception of Polish and Ukrainian labor markets by Poles and Ukrainians, in order to obtain more detailed opinions of respondents, it was decided to use the "Chinese portrait" projection technique. This brought very interesting results that allowed to verify the information obtained in quantitative and qualitative research conducted using an in-depth interview questionnaire. At the same time, during the implementation of the study, several challenges emerged that required taking into account both the projection technique and data interpretation. The text encourages the use of projective techniques in social research. It also points out the main challenges associated with it and suggests how to deal with them. - The sense of workload of social workers during the pandemic
The time of the pandemic is a difficult time for everyone. This situation is also a significant burden for the staff of social welfare institutions. The fact that the institution was approached by people who had not previously been recipients of benefits, as well as the manifestation of negative behavior by clients, creates unfavorable conditions for effective work. In addition, organizational changes related to partly remote work, reduced effectiveness of aid work, lack of sufficient social support from superiors and co-workers reinforce the feeling of overwhelm and exhaustion. The article is empirical in nature. The aim of the research was to diagnose the sense of workload of social workers during the pandemic. The research was conducted in 2021 on a sample of 129 social workers from all over Poland. The selection of the group for the research was purposeful, and the criterion adopted was employment as a social worker in a social assistance centre. The research method was the diagnostic survey method. The results of the research showed that most social workers worked in hybrid mode during the epidemic. They provided psychological support to those in need, coordinated the delivery of food to people in quarantine, or delivered it personally. An important area of work was the support of the elderly. The research results indicate that the vast majority of social workers feel extremely burdened by the fact that social welfare clients try to manipulate them and that they come to the center under the influence of alcohol or other intoxicants. A very significant burden is the fact that the respondents deal with too many customers. For the vast majority of social workers, it is extremely burdensome to achieve remuneration for work that is disproportionate to the workload.

A program supporting the assessment of noise exposure at the workplace, divided into activities
(Note: The program performs calculations in accordance with the standards applicable in the European Union)
The program allows you to assess noise exposure and provides noise level and/or exposure time reduction values for individual activities when the exposure limit value is exceeded. This is a trial version (it is made available for testing) and I will be grateful for any comments about the shortcomings noticed, and suggestions for what functions the software can be supplemented with in the next version.

- From the practice of a production manager
- Increasing the safety of employees and the workplace - the case study
Does the company aim to introduce special isolating valves or electrical disconnectors for each new production line? During the modernization of the enterprise, do the persons responsible for the project make sure that the LOTO procedures reflect the changes introduced? Is the company sure that it has made every effort to ensure that their employees can perform their duties in a safe environment? If the answer to any of the questions is "no", then the implementation of the LOTO procedure may prove to be not only useful, but also necessary to build a safe production environment.

- Motivating employees - some practical remarks
I have recently conducted a series of training courses for production masters. The topic concerned the implementation of new employees and we often discussed how to effectively motivate them. So that the most sensible people would like to stay in the company as long as possible. One of the exercises was a task in which the masters had to recall their first days at work. By the way, I recommend this type of thinking in different situations. Putting yourself in a different role than the current one: remembering from your experiences, or just reflecting on how I would think or act in such a situation - is a great way to look at a topic from a different, broader perspective. In this case, I encouraged you to move from the role of the boss to the role of an employee for a moment. This not only widens the view but also helps to understand the other party's perspective. - Where Can I Find Strength to Support Others?
We live in unstable times. We have not yet managed to recover from the pandemic when we were shocked by the information about an armed conflict just outside our country. Many production managers have lost their employees overnight, others are struggling with the emotions of their subordinates. It is more important than ever for a manager to be empathetic and support his people. But where to get the strength and energy to effectively support others? How to take care of yourself in these difficult times?

- 6 mistakes in implementing automatic maintenance
The implementation of autonomous maintenance is perceived by many companies as a remedy for problems with the machine park and increasing the involvement of operators in taking care of its condition. However, in order to achieve its goals and improve cooperation between production and maintenance, it is necessary to avoid a few common mistakes and use a few good practices.

Behapowiec is a worker like any other, only more meticulous. It is important that he is always helpful to other people, does not show superiority, and that he reminds us of what everyone often forgets. - SEGRO Academy in stock (4)
The final of the SEGRO Academy project, organized by SEGRO, a developer, manager and owner of production and warehouse space and the "Innowatorium" Foundation for Supporting Education and Development, took place on October 12 at SEGRO Park Stryków. - Euro-pallets after December 31, 2021 (6)
The year 2021 is unique for Euro-pallet users in every respect. The prices of these universal transport carriers are breaking all records, and yet the availability does not guarantee operational comfort. When we add to this the confusion with the interchangeability of pallets in the open field, we have a full picture of the problems faced by Euro-pallet users. - Automatic PALOMAT magazine (8)
Warehouse management is moving towards process automation. The main reasons for the changes are the lack of labor, as well as the development and digitization of logistics processes. Automation in a warehouse is not easy, because manual work has a significant share in the storage or picking operations. Areas where automatic devices can be introduced into processes are filling up quickly. - Limiting the risk of fire and increasing the efficiency of employees (11)
The Chief Sanitary Inspectorate calculated that in 2019 21 percent of Poles admitted to smoking cigarettes on a daily basis. Consequently, it can be assumed that at least one in five workers smokes. In the case of large plants, we are talking about several dozen or even several hundred people. Smoking employees who do so in an unsuitable place or against regulations increase the risk of fire and therefore the risk of fire in the facility. They can be reduced by organizing a professional smoking space.

- Subject of the issue: Polish order and environmental protection
The new Polish order is a development strategy announced by the state authorities, which will cover many areas of life. Among them are also changes supporting the protection of the natural environment. These will include "green" investments and programs that support citizens. The main goal is to reduce CO2 emissions and improve the quality of the environment in Poland. You can read the most important assumptions of the Polish Deal in the text! - Waste or by-product
Question: The technological process of metal grinding produces waste with the code 12 01 17. This waste contains almost all metal and coolant, which we will want to completely separate from this waste in the future. After the coolant has been separated and dried, the waste will be briquetted and sent for recovery to a company with appropriate permits. The resulting coolant will be filtered and reused in the process. The entire process of separation, drying and briquetting is to be performed outside the installation in which this waste was produced. Will we be required to change the permit for waste generation? Will we be required to have a waste treatment decision if the final waste code 12 01 17 does not change or if it changes to 12 01 02? - From 2022, new increased rates for sewage will apply
